100 Men Who Give a Damn – Dallas
Inspired by the success of Canadian groups like 100 Women Who Care and 100 Men Who Give a Damn, we’re bringing a great giving initiative to Texas. Starting in Dallas, we’ve gathered a bunch of great guys who care about our community and want to make a big impact. During our meetings we combine our giving power and focus it on one charity per quarter. That charity gets a big stack of checks from our members as well as many new contacts and a lot of free awareness.
Technically we don’t exist. We aren’t a charity and we have no bank account. Our volunteers simply organize the meetings where our members gather to support local charities. What’s great it that our members only need to contribute $400 a year to join, and 100% of that goes to local charities. We only meet four times a year and our meetings are fast. A great networking happy hour before each meeting helps connect like-minded professionals. There is literally no down side to our movement.
We have had a lot of help from the great men in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Their chapter raised $199,000 in the first eight meetings. We are thankful for the support of the great guys of 100 Men Who Give a Damn! Halifax.
100 Men Dallas’ Founders
Charles Gillis
Charles Gillis is the founder of 100 Men Who Give A Damn Dallas. He is also a member of 100 Men Who Give A Damn in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Charles saw the need for a 100 Men movement here in Dallas after becoming a member in Halifax and witnessing the tremendous impact the men were able to make with local charities. Charles has put lots of personal time and resources into this movement and his hard work is bringing great things to Dallas’ charities!
Marv D. Bramlett
Marv D. Bramlett is the co-founder of 100 Men Who Give A Damn Dallas. Marv and Charles were classmates in the UT Dallas Executive MBA program. When Charles told Marv about the 100 Men Movement, he was sold. He is now the movement’s spokesman and has been a huge part of getting the movement off of the ground. Marv has done radio and television interviews to help promote the movement and he serves as the MC at the 100 Men meetings.
